Engines Offline devlog #2

Engines Offline is still a thing! Here is a screenshot showing off some of the things i have been working on:

The two most obvious additions are the asteroids and the "UFOs" (graphics are WIP). The asteroids will float around randomly, and aren't very dangerous, unless you are going really fast.

The UFOs move around in circles. They enter the game flying upwards towards you. This means that you need to be careful of incoming UFOs.

Another thing you might notice is the score counter at the bottom. The score counter will count different things based on what game mode you are in.

This brings me to the next thing i added. Game modes! There are currently only 2, and no menu to select it, but that should be very easy to add. The game mode in the first demo is "Survival". The objective of this mode is to survive as long as possible. The new game mode that i added is "Score Attack". The objective of this mode is to shoot as many things as possible. This is the game mode that is playable the new demo.

I also fixed some bugs, got rid of the BladeRunner font , and changed the size of the "window" to 640x480.

You can play the demo in your browser by clicking hereFeedback would be much appreciated.

Engines Offline devlog #1

Hello everyone.

This weekend I started making a game called "Engines Offline". It currently looks like this:

It's an arcade-ish arena shooter, where you control a spaceship with broken engines. The only way you can move around is by shooting.

The game is in a pretty early stage and it still needs a lot of work, but I think it's pretty fun so far.
You can play the game here. Feedback would be much appreciated.

That's it for now. Bye!
